I finally got around to removing the Torsion Bars, stripped them back to bare metal, and painted them.

This is so far....scraping all the body deadener off....Why ???...loses some weight,...and....if a fire happens, it doesn't take long for paint to burn off, but takes ages for body deadener to burn off.
Also, when the body gets blasted, it won't take as long....blasting grit wants to bounce off body deadener, especially when it's 4 to 5mm thick....even thicker in some places.

I have also finished a job I started 17 years ago...joining the front and rear sub-frames together.
The front was done, just the rear wasn't completed....sure makes it easier on a rotisserie.. :D

I drew up some plans, gave them to a mate, who was working at a sheet metal fab joint, he folded them up for me, and I made them fit.

I finally got a bit more done on it.....stripping back the body deadner, Red Oxide coating, and having clean shiny steel, then coating it with some 1K Etch Primer.
Wheel tub with the body deadner scraped off.

I then washed off the remaining body deadner with Turps, and wiped it all down, leaving just the Red Oxide primer.

I then removed the primer coat to reveal nice shiny steel. I then treated any surface rust with Rust Converter.
