Hey,

I've gone looked at several cars and picked a 77 TE Cortina!

I haven't been able to pick it up yet since all the floods that has been happening.

Here is just some photos off car sales.

Yeah, I quite like it.. a bit of rust to get off the roof, the drivers side gutter is all rusted.. I don't know how bad because there is a vinyl roof on it. its a S Pack GHIA I believe with a 250 Cross Flow. but the idea is to put a 302 or 351 into it.. but not sure.. It's an auto atm but thinking about putting a manual in it...

That S pack decal is from an XF Falcon.....and if it is a GHIA, it will have chrome interior door & window handles......and a Tacho dash too......possibly velour interior.

Nice old corty! Now you need a 5.0 and 4spd auto out of an e-series, and it will go like stink, but still be economical, and handle really well. Enjoy! 8-)

At some stage some one put a sound system in it... has a 5 stacker cd player in the boot.

Yeah it's a speaker in the door card.... so the S Pack Decal is def not orig?

Also it's going to be either a 302 or 351....... it has a 250 in it so no point putting a 289 in it...

Ashcook has a nice 351 clevo for sale  but I doubt you can register a corty with a cleveland, I think a 302 (ie:- short deck) windsor is the biggest you can legally fit. Or a 347! (dont tell them) 8-)

There are a few 351 Cortina's getting around QLD.. but dont know about the new rules... so see what happens when I get to it....

Might play around with the 250 for now... Any threads on here with decent 250 Builds?

I would be ripping that vinyl roof off right away- my first car was a 79 Ghia with vinyl roof-much crud and rust was under it when we lifted it.

Yeah I will be ripping it off.. it has rust down the drivers side all along the gutter... but I'll be putting a new one on.. i like the look of the vinyl roofs... just will be fixing the rust and prepping it properly and then putting it back on... it will look nice!
