Well its been a while but me and the missus have finally had chance to do a few little tricks to the daily driver.

Firstly we got the Tickford scuff plate inserts fitted with a pair of BA scuff plates. Very classy little pieces indeed. Pics to come.

Then just yesterday we had the AU 220kw 4-1 style headers fitted. Before they were fitted up they had the factory (tiny) collector outlets cut off and replaced with a piece of 2.5" mandrel bent stainless. Of the new pices of pipe i fitted up a pair of 2.5" hi-flow cats which came of my mates AU 220kw. To top it off i had two new o2 sensors fitted as i was unsure of the age of the ones in there.
First impressions, louder!! They have given it a much nicer note on both idle and throughout the rev range aswell as giving it a few more Db's. It has definately unlocked some hidden HP and Torque too. Most noticeable is the top end increase, wants to rev alot more above 4000rpm, whereas as before it still had abit of a feel like the e-series 5.0's where its running out of puff, definately feel the difference with the back into the seat there. Low and mid range torque has improved too, dont have to put the boot into is as much to bring yourself up to speed.
Overall the 220kw headers with the modified collectors are definately a worth while upgrade, especially when they can be sourced for $0.00 ;). Once again, pics to come.
We reset the avg L/per 100km as we drove away and after about 75km's of drving last night and today it is sitting on a realistic 14.3 whereas before it has been sitting on 15.2 quite comfortably.

Thats all we have done since last post but we have got a few little bits and pieces ready to go on.
Still have the 70mm Tickford T/B ready to go on once we are ready to get the upper manifold polished.
When that is going back together i'll sliding in a 1/2" FMS phenolic spacer. Main reason for this is to clear some new r/covers i have here for it ;).
Have also got a fuel pressure guage here, same oil filled speco one as the utes got, once i get the autometer adapter fitting that will be going in.
Then it'll get a full service and a coolant change and then the new header tank will be fitted. We've just got a brand new genuine ford plastic one sitting here for it but we are thinking of selling it and just getting a PWR alloy one after fitting one to the ute.
I've also put my name down for a KPM Performance flash tune box with generic tunes to suit. Not really looking for more power here, moreso abit of an improvement in fuel economy, but some more power will never go astray.

Thats about it for now, will get some pics together of the scuff plates and headers then update again once the bits and pieces above start happening.

Cheers,
Jeff

Got some pics together finally.
Firstly of the modifications and fitment of the 220kw headers. Here you can see where the collector outlets were cut off and the s/steel 2.5" mandrel bends were fitted.
Then theres a pic of the Tickford scuff plate inserts with BA scuff plates :D
We also fitted a ghia "G" emblem to the bonnet. Really changes the look of the whole front end IMO.
Let me know what you think?

Cheers,
Jeff

They were custom made on a group buy on AFF.

This is one nice looking Ghia mate! I have never really liked the look of the AU sedan's, but this one is beginning to change my mind.

First you turned the Ute into a stunner, and now this too! Very nice work.

Looks like a little something will be going on with this car soon.
Will be picking up, in a week or so, a 220kw AUII XR8 engine that will be getting transplanted into this which should give it abit more "get up and go"..........to the shops

Other than that nothing much has been done to it. Just the addition of a AUII XR blue dash facia and the removal of the factory premium sound head unit which was replaced by a single DIN Alpine head unit.

Will update as things start to get moving.

 Don't want to ruin your party but you probably won't notice much of a difference especialy with it being an auto. It's a shame they had no manual option, 6 speed ZF would be nice :)

Woah, your still alive.

Yeah we're not expecting a Huge gain but theres gotta be somewhat of an increase in power going from the 175kw engine to the 220kw.
3.9 gears will eventually find there way into the a*** end aswell which will definately give it some extra punch!!

I'm still alive? What do you mean by that? I know there was a fair bit of anamosity here but what goes around comes around lol. Yeah I can't be bothered being a keyboard warrior anymore, only part of these vehicles that interests me know is the EECV tuning. Yet to buy hardware/software.

Meant that you have been very quiet for a while now.
Lol at not being a keyboard warrior, at least you can admit now that that is what you were!!

Interested to see how you go with the EEC-V tuning. Its a good thing now that the DIY tuning of these vehicles is more out in the open now. I take it you will be practicing on your T series?
