Got the cluster all together-drilled the hole for the speedo and extended the button, had some small black ford badges I've had for ages so I used one to cover the original trip reset button hole, used alot of the screws that came off the xg cluster except for 4-I also cut the 2 big tabs off the bottom of the MDF so I could use the original mounting points in the ute,all in all its not too bad for the first attempt
still have to do the trip and dimmer yet + check illumination

Hey guys,am considering using the BA XR ute seats now Ive had a better look at them, they're in great condition and after taking a few measurements it looks like the BA rails need very little modification's to work in the XG or EA/B/D for that matter-where the AU seats needed the mounting brackets added to the rails from the XG rails, will try them when I do the carpet and rust repair under the windscreen ps-no point doing the carpet till the cabin leaks done

BA dash up next?

I quite like the work put into that cluster, seems really neat and somewhat factory looking. I once considered changing out the interior, adding bits and pieces as such but i love it how it is, factory blends well. While you're at it, maybe you should consider a floor mounted handbrake? It'd be damn lovely.

XG is coming along just nicely mate, consider doing a 0 - 100 run for us as it'd be great to compare with my manual time ( Which is around 6 seconds, give or take depending on gear changing speed, temp and load )

Haha BA dash "no way " those dash's are massive!, yea the cluster worked well for the first attempt so thats an option I could add when redoing the harness, will try and get a vid of 0-100, trying to work out some way to mount a cam (probably a cheap HD crash cam would do), have considered the hanbrake too

Hey all, haven't done alot of late but have started on finishing the bonnet as its lost a fair bit of rigidity after cutting the brace + the entire brace needs regluing to the bonnet skin (after the new peice is welded in) I'm also adding another bracket and balls for a second strut on the passenger side of the bonnet, the piece I made for the brace was from the smashed BA bonnet-I made it bigger than the template so it can be spot welded first on to the flat metal on either side of the hump peice of brace that was removed to give it more strength and then weld the edges, will update this post when welded and painted, cheers, Johnny.

Hi mate, yea the conversion was a bit rushed when I done it and also this way it can be converted back very easily if need be, I have a cover peice for the shifter and am doing some work on it atm with the gauge pods, cheers, Johnny.
Edit; I forgot to mention it was supposed to a 5-speed manual so I didnt want to make any big trans tunnel mods.

Needs to be before the Cat convertor to get a proper reading. I mounted mine at the 12 O'clock position as if there is condensation build up on cool down it will not collect on the sensor.
