Ring me dude and get your rectum out to my place. There are two 15 inch tyres here even on rims.
I wouldnt drive much on them as they have been sitting around for two years and woudl be as hard as a rock but they hold air and have plenty of tread.

I have decided just to chuck my wheels on the ole girl for blue slip but not today
One other little hiccup I noticed with the EF is that it doesn't change into 4th. Cruising back from the check yesterday I noticed the revs were around the 2200 mark in drive. The changes are so damn smooth that it is hard to figure out what it has got to, wish there was some way of displaying what gear the box is actually in but I know that is impossible. I know there is nothing wrong with this box as it performed fine when it was in my wagon. Gotta be shift adjustment or something to do with fitting an ED box in an EF. When I put the EL box in my ED I had some issues with gear selection as well with the EL gear shift not working in the ED so this could be something similar. Anyway, thats a problem for later in the week, I am just going to enjoy the peace today..... Cheers RD

RD I best guestimate would be to take the car for a drive, pullover in a place were nothing is around and then take off normally but in first then onto 2nd and then 3rd then drive and count the times it changes... but on the highway the old mans EA and my AU sit on or around the 2grand mark so maybe it was just a smooth transition.

Yea, will have to do something like that just to double check. Interesting about the EA & AU.... I'll get Rach to tell me what revs the ED is doing in 4th @ 60K. I think the EF sedan has the same diff as the wagon - 3.23 - so it should be the same revs, give or take a few with tyre difference: 205/65-15's EF vs 225/50-16's ED.

It has a BLUE SLIP!!! YAY!!!
Got 2 replacement tyres for the back from a wrecker - 90% tread for $35.00 each, no it wasn't PnP. I had to go this way 'cause I found that the left front on my wagon needs replacing so using my wheels wasn't an option. I then moved the RH rear to the LH front. What a PITA the handbrake adjustment is! Finally got that done. Took it down today and all he did was pull the handbrake lever - no actual test. Still, it would have worked fine anyway. So now I have a couple of extra things to do. There is a water leak that has appeared after driving it to and from the place. One of the joints under the manifold (!!!!!!) is leaking so that needs to be addressed. And of course, the gear shift. Double checked today and nope, not changing into 4th. I'll whack it up and ramps and check out both things - the water leak and gear shift adjustment. This weekend it gets it first wash, bought some Mothers car wash for the job. I also bought some Mothers polishing wax stuff to revive the paint. Am going to try by hand first but might invest in an orbital polisher for the job. Can only see what happens I suppose. Next week it gets rego and new plates. The EB can finally be retired before it falls in a heap! Cheers RD

Thanks guys, I am so glad that part of the road has been traveled. Once I get these niggly things done I will be 100% happy.
Ben - so looking forward to getting my wagon back, have a bit to do to it. Rach and I were discussing this very thing last night. Bit of bling in the inside and cleanup of the outside. My wagon will have to be finished before I do the dressup stuff on this car - it my turn!!!

Well, it's registered..... cost more than I expected, just under $900.00 all up!!!!!
Couple of niggly's - it does change into 4th after I readjusted the shift linkage. It's a bit slushy though so I think I will need to do do a fluid and filter change. Hopefully that will revive it. Other thing is I installed Rachs stereo today and the aerial still does not go up and down as it should. Not sure where to start looking for that one just at the moment. Not really in the frame of mind either due to family health issues.... Then there is the basics - need a new battery as the one in it is God knows how old and it having trouble holding a charge. Also needs a wheel alignment after the tie rod end change. I'll have my wagon back tomorrow or Thursday depending how I go with the stuff in the first paragraph..... Cheers RD

Quick question for those who know.....
Is the EF transmission wiring any different to an ED transmission wiring? This all goes with my weird shifting in this trans. When I installed it, I didn't change the wiring over so the late ED wiring is attached to the box (which of course is ED). I have it up on ramps right now about to do the filter/fluid change so if the wiring *is* different I could change it at the same time.... Cheers RD

Cool, one less thing in the mix.
Just dumped the trans sump and the fluid is black and smelly. Filter is pretty sad too. Hopefully new fluid and filter will do the job...

All done now. Shifts are a bit smoother and I *think* it is changing into 4th. RPM drops to around 1500 at between 50 and 60kmh. Going to go for a longer drive to settle it in properly and see what happens.
