Yes using ba ecu to run motor and el ecu for everything else aircon still a bit tricky and will be running manual trans. Will have some more pics later.

Here we go with todays pics installed clutch did a few little things to get ready and broke the oil pressure sender unit so will have to get one of those this week.
 see the clutch alugnment tool I made that at school about thirty years ago still going strong has served me well it has done a heap of cars a monaro 260z patrol a few falcons mazda toyotas and still going strong.  Gearbox attatched. I am using a T5 at the moment if this project is succesful will probably get a t56 when this blows so will have to be Mr sensible for a while.  My arty shot  Cluth all bolted up ready to go. Thats it for this weekend. Wont be doing anything next weekend off for another trip to hospital so will knock me around for a few days. But will get the motor in soon. Cheers Steve |

Surely a propellor head amongst us could make up a box if tricks to replicate the key on, engine running data feed when triggered with 12 volts to get the A/C problem fixed for these lads??
I not such a propellor head, but I know there are some smart cookies on here......

Well i felt OK today so I thought I would have a little play.
 As you can see motor is in and its not coming out again!!  Another angle Still a lot of wiring to be done These are the photos of sump clearance    As you can see there is plenty of clearance I can even get my sausage like fingers between sump and K frame. If any one wants anymopre photos of cut sump just drop me a line. I still have my practise sump as well. Tomorrow I might try and get interior back together or split some firewood. Cheers Steve |

I had the sump cut and welded at a local welding place I just marked out where I wanted it cut from my trial sump. Cheers Steve |

Hi
Just a couple of quick updates. Doesn't look like a lot has been done but it is all wired in now. Had a mild panic attack putting the dash back in could not find a couple of wires they were hiding under a bit of insulation and I had a bit of doubt as to whether I had done everything correctly. Thans to snap0964 and BenJ for easing my fears. Got the dash in everything lights up including the check ABS light so obviously i have disconnected something somewhere. Then on cleaning the bench i found one of the O-rings for the power steering hose I had made up another job for weekend. So here is whats left fit o ring to power steering Fit new carpet Install console and gearknob Connect fuel lines install radiator and thermos Mount loom for turbo sensors Remove bumper and fit intercooler and piping Get air con lines made up Hopefully thats it A few more shots   Long weekend this weekend so hopefully should get a lot done Steve |

Todays update. I thought I would tidy up interior now all the wiring is done. A few months ago I managed to pick up some nos carpet so it was time to put it in.
 out come seats again.  If you have a good look you can see the relay block and fuse box to run the BA motor just in front of gearstick. This will be a good place to put them nice and dry and easy to get to. Factory carpet is great to install all holea are there and it slots straight in.  Almost all done to me the gearstick looks a bit hifg is this normal?  A bit more work to be done on column wiring have to fit modifed Au clockspring. Thats all folks Cheers Steve |
