I have the newer bigger 2.1L M122h blower. The exact same blower off the new Shelby GT500.

sorry guys. but whats this 3v engine all about?

and how come they stopped making it?

nice car btw man, very slick

The 3v engines are out of the f150 trucks in the US. They have bulke torque low down in the rev range which is what you want. Wheres the 4v boss engines have good torque up top. No good. They came out stock with 220kw. But were detuned from factory so not to compete with the boss motors too much. With a few grand these engines realy wake up. Exhaust, induction and a good flash tune and you can have up to 230rwkw. Add 3000 high stall and 4.11 gears and these 3v's have been seen doing 12.5 second ET's. Thats naturaly aspirated and with only 230 odd rwkw.

The 3v "Triton" has VCT which the Boss motors don't. The Triton is restricted to changing up at some 5000rpm with a slushbox behind it, but it seems to have a good strong bottom end. I suspect that around 5000rpm the cam is advanced and spark retarded to limit power. Tuned Tritons seem to have no problems revving reliably to 6000 or so. This along with cam and spark timing tweaks would account for the increases in power xt3valve mentions above.

Stock meaning no supercharger. It has exhaust, extractors, cold air induction and custom flash tune.
