Hey all, I have been going to start a thread on the black beast for a while but have been rather busy fixing CamFord's Monty and also Lucifa.
Today I FINALLY got around to fixing my exhaust properly. 2 Weeks ago I found that the main muffler was stuffed and was leaking all over the place so I decided to change it and put in my EF XR6 Mufflers so it would sound good but, the Main Muffler I got home was the WRONG one and was about 8-10" too long so I had to pinch the main one from the EDDY ED we have in the back yard to get it back running. During the week I got hold of the RIGHT one (although it is 2" longer than standard) and fitted it and the rear one today. Lots of grunting and groaning (and Sunburn) and she is all in. I had to modify the bracket locations a bit to make it sit properly and I will have to get it heated up a tad in the tail pipe area to get it away from the Bumper Bar but I am happy and it sounds bloody GREAT  I will get Cam to take some pics tomorrow and post so you can all see, it is 2.25" as well

Nice AU you have there Papa Smurf, looks to be in pretty much mint condition
 Awesome work on the exhaust by the way, looks to be a real nice fit. Will look good once the tail pipe is relocated into position. A nice set of twin tips would set the rear end off nicely i reckon  Hmm, i think i can just make out what is next on the cards going by what is in that picture - i like your thinking on that mod Papa Smurf, should look good when all fitted up. It'll be a nice upgrade over the AU items thats for sure

Thanks guys and YES it does sound good. I need to get the tailpipe heated and bent down a bit but that will come, it vibrates a little in reverse but that is all. Does sound strange after listening to a bit of diff noise for so long
The mod I intend will happen HOPEFULLY before the end of the Year.

Update, the FG or BA air box will NOT fit.
 1. They sit too high and it isn't possible to close the bonnet I still have another Idea for this but will have to wait until I finish a certain ED Polynesian Green Fairmont...... 2. Have scored a nice set of lower control arms from a BA falcon, also have a new Sway Bar and just need to get 2 stub axles and 2 Calipers. I know it is taking time but $$$ are not always plentiful so I will amass what I need in the near future. 3. I have a new set of wheels to add to Lucifa but $$$ prevents me from putting booties on them and so, until I can afford some, Lucifa will have to make do with the Old shoes. There are still more ideas I have but will take time for them to come to fruition. Thanks for reading

Hey George, good to hear there is some more mods lined up for Lucifa
What a shame that the airbox didn't go in as well as you would have like. I think some of the e-series guys who fitted the BA airboxes had to smash the inner guard down a bit so that the airbox didn't sit up so high - that could be an option, but i guess it all depends on how far you have to smash the inner guard in. Should look awesome with some new rims fitted mate. Keen to see how it looks once they are on

Ok, has been a while since I did some updates to this story so, here we go.

No Ash, I used a alloy cleaner that got all the shEEt off the housings and the paint went on easy and dried well. There is nice new pads in them and they will be sitting over a set of BA drilled and slotted rotors
When I get the stub axles I will make a start on doing this. The money for my tyres is about together and soon the BF XR 17s will be carrying Lucifa around
