Very nice, I've always loved these. Can we have some interior and engine bay pics?

What is it like to drive? I've always thought our AU XR6 VCT was a nice drive, but would be improved by more go. I reckon a Windsor would complement an AU perfectly.

Sorry to hear about your trouble with the parts, its amazing the stupid s**t I've been given (or not given) before....

Is it all standard? Do they have the same strangled exhaust sound as the rest?

I'll get into it on monday and take some interior happy snaps and what not, Exhaust wise.. these came standard with a dual system, sounds great, crisp clear, not too offensive. Its like driving an armchair that handles and goes. Sitting at the lights, its so quiet you can hear the windscreen wiper motor if you listen carefully.

I've driven a few AU XR's as well, they dont stack up. they can all be made to move well, but these are different again. Its no screamer, but it was never intended to be, but it does it well. Still has plenty of nuts to truck about town, and plenty of go when you put your foot down.

After having been immersed in a world or quick I6's for years, to get back in a well refined V8 is wonderful. You don't realise how harsh an E series is or how agricultural an I6 AU is until you get in one of these.

There are still things that need doing, bushes and struts, but thats about it. I would like to do a cam and tune, but thats about all I really want to do. I just don't want to fiddle with this car.

I take offence to that, my Lucifa is a beaut. :D :D
You might need to replace the 2 upper rear shock mounts as well, don't get roped into buying them from Ebay, they are STILL available from Ford.

That certainly sounds like where I am getting noise, and the fronts needs looking at too.

very very nice T series mate they are a beautiful car, i have a S2 XR8 with the 220 motor and i love it, the engines are a thing of beauty and the ride is smooth as silk, i cant imagine how nice the TE would be... i am a very enviuose AU enthusiest...

With the whole repco f**k... i do appologise for them as a company, i work at the Traralgon store and if we stuff something up for someone we will drive to the next town to fix it for them, the fact that they wouldnt drive 2kms out of theyre delivery radius is bull s**t, you do get s**t stores like that which are full of drop kicks who have no idea about spare parts or customer service and should not be in the bussines...

but again mate beautiful car, very lucky pickup...

You would think they would look after their account customers a bit better, but thats saturdays for ya. Glad it ended up being sorted, I'll go in and see the store tomorrow and as for a further explanation. Mind you, I did get a free upgrade for the balancer, they supplied a street series as opposed to an OEM item.

Did 600km in the car today, Father inlaw took it for a drive, was ment to be round the block, ended up in the hunter valley playing silly buggers. He loved it, said it was one of the best cars he has ever street driven. Now it makes me really want to get the knocks sorted out. Also thinking Koni Adjustables all round will be the order of the day.

might have to change my balancer, mines really off balance at idle, if you have the door open while mines idleing it will just about fall off...

1/2 hour of your time will rectify the issue. I was happy it was such an easy job. Having been in I6 land for so long, I was initally dredding it, knowing that the I6 motor was a Radiator out job.

So, new pads and rotors ordered, A massive thanks to Matt @ Sydney Race Brakes, turns out, the Genuine eliptical slotted rotors have just been release from exclusive ford purchasing.

He has ordered them in, bear in mind, 329mm rotors. $149 each! QFM pads, $80 a set of fronts!!

Its cheaper to put big rotors on an AU than it is to get good slotted rotors for an E series.
However, due to the public holiday on monday, it will now be monday week until I can pick these up.

On another note, the wife went shopping last night, before she left, grabbed my phone and transfer a few hundred out of my car saving account. Apparently some new dresses and shoes and s**t are a better purchase than cam and tune, so that will just have to wait. I would raid her saving account, but apparently, its called a spending account.
