Nothing has happened the last few weeks.. Just waiting on several parts and things to arrive so I can do it all at once.

But I would like to share my fathers pride and joy.

Who knows what it is? 8-)

Always the way waiting for parts. I'm currently waiting for exhaust and radio parts. haha

But yea, your dads car is mint!
At first I thought it was a Camaro, but then Pontiac came to mind. So i'm guessing its a mid to late 60's Firebird.

Correct?

Gday fellas.

I've got some plans happening really soon.

1. Going to pick up my new engine this week.
2. Getting a quote for a new Lukey exhaust this week also.
3. Bought a new sub to replace the factory one (It's f**k, lol).

I also wanted to ask everyone about the things I should do/change/replace while the engine is out.
At the moment all I can think of is getting new engine mounts and fitting my new radiator, but I bet there's a lot more.

Cheers lads.

Well I rang around today for a quote on an exhaust..

One place was asking $1200 for a full custom 2.5" system including 1 muffler & high flow cat & tip - BYO 4480's

Another place quoted $1250-$1500 (depending on fitting hours) for a 2.5" system with a turbo muffler & resonator & high flow cat & tip - BYO 4480's

Is this a fair price? Has anyone on here been to a shop and has had a similar system installed for a good price and can vouch for their work? Any info would be great :D

Get them to make up the system and install it yourself man, takes 2 hours max.

Bloody Hell.

It's an E Series not a Rolls.

Buy a Redback 2.5" Mandrel Bent exhaust from a local exhaust place. Should be $400 tops. Get a rear resonator to keep it legal.

Then take it home and fit it yourself.

Over 1K for an exhaust for a pretty std fitment is just a rip off in my books.

The only difficult part is getting the factory cat modded to suit the extractors.

Cheers
BenJ

Agreed, just buy an off the shelf system and be done with it.

phwoooaahhh tell them where to stick it.
i paid $350 for a redback system from the cat back, including twin tip and fitting. to add paceys was another $400 odd, not much more for fitment.
keep looking or do it yourself.

Lol, cheers for the response guys.

I have no intention of fitting the exhaust myself.. as I need to have the extractors fitted which was the main reason of taking to a shop :\

I don't want a loud exhaust though, I just don't want the 3 mufflers the ghia currently has..

Oh and I forgot to mention I could probably knock quite a bit off the price if I go and source the cat and mufflers myself.. they want 400 for a high flow cat and I can get a magnaflow one on ebay for 135.... lol
