Hi to old friends and so on.

Have not really had anything to do with internet forums for the last 12 months id say. Not untill a week ago anyway. I was thinking you guys would not be interested in a car like this, and wasnt going to post this up here. But then I figured f**k it, so here we go.

My new ride slash project.

Its a 1975 XB Falcon 500 sedan in Deep Aqua with optional white painted roof. it has a 250 with 3 on the tree manual.

I polished and waxed it today. It sucks doing it by hand, but the end result is satisfying.

Cheers mate. looking to fix the rust first. I have a GS bonnet lined up for it, witch will be painted Deep Aqua with GT black centre but white instead of black to match the roof and a set of white GS stripes to tie it all together.

T5 conversion with a 351 later on down the road.

I have my eye on a set of wheels, so hopefully I get them soon. Am looking into front suspension upgrades at the moment.

Cheers

Welcome back anyway Josh. The XB looks mint.
Still have the NF?

Cheers mate. Yeah still got the NF, will be stripping it soon for the T5 ond other bits for the XB. Thought the Cappa NF Premium sound Head unit would look good in the XB

Cheers

Good to see some more old school coolness

Has it got air con? If not, are you going to put it in? I've been thinking how to go about putting it in my 6cyl Mustang. Would need to be a similar set-up to what you would need.

MATE lol, hows it going. You know Im driving it everyday  Whats the point of having a car like this if your not driving it every day.

No Air con. Might look into it after the 351 goes in, otherwise it will just end up needing to be chaged.

Cheers mate

Going good Josh. Very busy, but that is good!

That's the stuff, good to see you're enjoying it! :D
I haven't been able to enjoy my 69 at all yet but my 66 turns up very soon and that will be a daily driver, I'm really looking forward to it!

You being a fabricator, I was keen to see if you had anything in mind for adapting an A/C system to the 6cyl. The old school stuff is massive equipment. I'm keen on avoiding buying a whole new aftermarket bolt on system if I can but if I can use my own stuff wherever, then it'll be a help.

How far off is the planned 351? Have you picked up a bellhousing or you going to mod one? And will it be an LPG motor?

What gearbox did you use in the XF ute? Im not sure I might need to use a 4 speed manual bellhousing to suit a 351.

I prefer petrol to gas, unless i can be convinced as to why lpg 351 is better? The 351 will be later after I have cleaned up the little dents you cant see in the pics and have done wheels, front suspention and rear brakes, I have heard E series wagon Diffs can be bolted on.

Cheers

I first had a 4 speed V8 single rail. Then I changed to a EL XR6 T5. I had on the shelf a AU VCT T5 as they are apparently the strongest and closest ratio box to a V8 T5 that you can get. But have now sold the lot.

You will need a Dellow or CRS alloy T5 to Windsor?Cleveland bellhousing if you want to use a T5 and it has to be a 6cyl T5 unless you change the input shaft over on a V8 T5.

If you're happy to pay for the fuel consumption, then definitely leave it petrol. If you're not and want cheaper daily running costs, then definitely make it straight LPG. It will perform just as good and cost much less to run.

Pretty sure you will have no worries with an E-series diff. I had a EL XR6 sedan diff under my XF which had the spring hangers modified to suit leaf springs. You just need to find out the exact diff lengths between the models to make sure.

I see, so the I6 input shaft suits the 351 but not the V8. lol soundls like it should be the other way arround.

Yeah I dont mind paying for petrol. We still have a family car for family trips etc, so there is room for 1 gusler lol.

Cheers mate

Ok, have been thinking about tunes for the XB. there currently no radio of any kind in the car, so I have been thinking of options. I would like to use my NF Premium sound system for 2 reasons. I already own it and its brown so it matches the interior.

Image

I dont want to cut a great big double dinn hole in the centre of my dash, so I was considdering making a stainless steel cradle for mounting the head unit under the dash. It seemed like a good idea, but it would look like an after thought. So the idea is to seperate the the 2 single dinns and mount them under the dash side by side. In order for this to work, the wiring harnesses that connect the 2 single dinns together need to be extended, and the hand brake will need to be relocated. I need to take some measurements tomorrow, so ill take some pics of the dash to show you guys what I exactly am talking about.

Cheers
