Wondering if anyone has a tacho suitable for use with a V12 Jag? or knows of a manufacturer who makes something suitable.

Problem is most if not all tachos are for 4,6 or 8 cyl motors.

I realise a 6cyl one can be used with a resistor inline or some sort of setup like that.

The car is running a Motec ECU, but the motec ICE dashes are too bloody dear!

Hope someone has some info. BTW, the Smiths Tacho that comes standard is no longer suitable as it cannot react to the engine speed quick enough. plus it does not rev to 9500rpm like the motor does.

Someone must know something to help out.

i have several v12 tachos here that go up to 10,000. bu i dont think the old man would want to part with one.
its off a 4l v12 lamborghini espada, it revs to 8000 and god it sounds good.

but i will ask him and see what he says

what brand are they? I don't recall who provided the instrument gear for the espada.. pretty sure it would be the same gear in the murac's as well. but yeah find out for me.. What capacity are the espadas out of interest. (before anyone comments I know this has no bearing on the instrument gear, just out of curiosity)

yeah the smiths reaction time is to slow, the needle ends up not being able to keep up witht the engine when you shift especially. it just gets lost and starts flapping around like a hairdresser with a glass of chardonay. If you can inagin what that looks like. The espada is not a fast reving motor though is it? the Stock Jag v12 is pretty lazy so the guages suit. but now with the new ultra light honeycomb fly wheel the thing is nuts, real mongrel to get off the line though. like a fat a** formula ford.

I already have done that Frank, hence the reason I am asking here. I was wondering if anyone knew of Tacho's that were suitable, now established, tacho's other than Smiths, Auotmeter and the other major companies within australia so not make stuff suitable for a 12 Cylinder.

Anyone in the UK I can recommend I call scene as you appear to be a wealth of knowledge.

Thanks for stating the bloody obvious.
