hey,
as i am sick of fixing my car and dont really want 2 spend more money than its worth fixing it and painting it, so i figure it will b cheaper 2 buy another one and put everything from my car into it. all i wantr is a stocky with decent paint and reasopnably straight, so if anyone knows of one that would b great thanks |

260 000kms but dont be put off by that they are mainly country k's. It still drives like it has 100 000. I have it advertised for $3800 and have just spent a fair bit on it during the uni break. I was considering keeping it because its such a great car but I need somethin different. Car is in Bedford Park.

thanks ill hav a think about it bit, looks great but i think its a little pricy for the k's because just about all ef and el falcons do their heads at around 220000 - 250000k's
|

quik_ED wrote: just about all ef and el falcons do their heads at around 220000 - 250000k's not necessarily. most EA/EL's do their headgaskets at around 150,000-200,000km. the heads will far outlast that if looked after properly. my EL's done 272,000km on the original head gasket, runs perfectly, no tappet noise, timing chain noise, lifter noise etc.

from what ive seen they have because my brothers car cracked the head at 230000 and i looked at another one a while ago and the coolant was brown and had a weeping head on it with 275000 on the clock so i dont wanna take a risk and spend a sh**t load on fixing it. thats all.

It had the head done at 200 000. Has had regular coolant flushes and new lifters etc... Like i said my dad drove it in the break and said he without looking at the odometer he would have thought it would have done less than half of what it has.

Yeah and admittedly doing heads, despite being supposedly so common we never did one on our old one in the 350ks we did, the tranny ended up packing it it in though, can't figure out how as we boiled it several times, and never serviced it, as dad figured it was cheaper to buy a new engine than pay a few services.
