Hi all,
I am looking for a cheap lower cluster and 2nd gear out of a world class T5 box, parts are to suit my XR8 T5Z but i believe that they are the same as normal WC boxes.......with added "Z" what ever that is. Parts a pretty cheap off ebay ex USA, but i'm hoping someone has a box they have sitting around or have taken parts off and can't get rid of the rest. I may buy the whole WC box if cheap enough, but it would have to be cheap as freight to NZ is a killer.

Non 6/8 specific as i believe they are the same internally??

Anyway, let me know what you have!!

6 and 8 arent the same the v8 gear clusters run bigger bearings in some better to order from states new as they are available in the upgraded torque rating which for the extra is well worth it

The gearing in the pre/post EBII 6cyl boxes is the same on the mainshaft - the ratio changes between pre EBII and post EBII were achieved by different gear count on the input shaft, and it's corresponding meshing gear on the countergear - interestingly, the other countergear gears are the same geartooth count early or later boxes - wonder if the 8 boxes use the same system ??

2nd gear in the 6 box has 31 teeth, the meshing gear on the countergear has 23 teeth. Count yours and see what you come up with - possibly a 6cyl 2nd gear may fit.
Might be a bum steer, but worth 10 mins checking IMO.

But as mentioned, getting them in from the states, looks like the cheapest option, even from that site listed in your build thread - from your photos in the build thread, looks like your up for a countergear and 2nd gear.
