I'm chasing an auto T-bar shifter from an XD or Fairlane etc.

The one I'm thinking of (in case there's more than one type) in the silver/chrome one with black buttons.

Will pay for postage and whatever is asked for the shifter.

Cheers

Ah yes lol.

I'm actually fitting it to my XF ute. Which has a 3 spd auto, the borg warner i believe?

I'm told by a wreckers there's two types because the shifter linkage was changed from one side of the box to the opposite side?

I'm probably wrong on a few things, the only X series car I've had (except the XF & ZL) is my XC, which was a manual column..

Are you able to tell me exactly which one I'm looking for / what cars it was fitted to?

As a rule the ones with the all chrome handle were for the V8. The ones with the chrome bottom with the black plastic top were for 6 cylinder. In the later models they were black plastic with an orange button.

Ah okay, thanks guys some very useful information there.. The earliest car I've got is an XC, but it's manual..

I saw an XC at the wrecekrs the other day (in good condish, the owner of the wreckers has it) factory V8 and it had one of the chrome shifters.

BAWITHLOT

Sounds good mate, however the shifter linkage would be on the opposite side to the XF wouldn't it?

How much do you want for it?

Shouldn't be too hard to simply cut and weld the chrome shifter upper onto the base section of the XF one and have the join under the console it doesn't look messy..

This should work, yeah?
