i believe it is set by the ECU? there are no adjustments on the cam or crank angle sensors.

Thanks Jose. Although it has a pinging problem under heavy load (3 Adults up a steep hill). Not sure what to do now. I have upgraded the fuel to 95 and have some Moly Injection Cleaner, both of which have helped. The engine has pinged since I bought the car (a few weeks back).

could also be plug gap.

Change out your plugs and leads, also check and change the hego's, clean your maf.

All these things contribute.
