Are 3.9 heads any good for performance?
I was told that people were using them on E series engines because they have good air flow, is this true? |

I do remember that the cam profile from the 3.9 heads were quite aggressive for OEM,but not sure about flow though.

Don't use the EA head as it's not as good as the later model heads. The EF/EL head would be a better choice. If you get an AU head, you need the AU cam and rocker gear. Here's some info from Jim Mock, who specialised in modded Ford engines: http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.ht ... Two&A=2236

If you have the cam for the 3.9 I'd be interested in it for the reason mentioned,
more aggressive profile than the later stock cams.
