Hi. I have a BF 4.0L Non Turbo, Petrol.
The car is having issues starting where it cranks fast but does not want to start, eventually it will begin to somewhat splutter after 4 seconds of cranking and then after bit more cranking start. The thing is the car doesn't show any ignition or fuel issues when running, doesn't stutter or anything when revved after it starts, it has heaps of power, and starts fast after that. I thought it was check valve in fuel pump not holding pressure overnight but I ruled that out by priming the car 3 times (IGN ON / IGN OFF ) before cranking. Plugs and Coils are recently new genuine Ford plugs - Fuel is fresh. -Cranks fast, tried charging battery to full - Tried putting Ignition on and off 3 times to prime fuel pump incase bad check valve not holding pressure - All new intake manifold gaskets - Injectors tested OK, cleaned and flow tested not long ago - No check engine light while driving Has anyone had a similar issue and how was it solved? Any other troubleshooting steps I can try. I'm very sure I put a new fuel pressure reg in when I did the injectors but not totally sure. I'm considering diagnosing bad FPR by clamping the return fuel line to see if it helps it start in the morning. Thanks |
