AU99, you should document your setup for the rest of us considering gas.. I'd like to get the most from it if I could.

I have done the same mods pretty much most normal people do on their cars. Only difference I can really determine is I have done it on a budget. But I would need a seperate thread on how I got all the parts. Like my exhaust for example cost me $35.
The real story with my car is what it started life as and the jorney til now. but back to topic with AU v EF if both were stock and on petrol EF would win. they are lighter but throw it thru some corners and the AU would out handle it everyday of the week. Franki90 get a duel fuel ECU, extractors, A XR8 Snorkal and mod your airbox heres some pics for you Airbox intake... yeah thats 75mm stormwater pipe ![]() ![]() Snorkal ![]() Engine bay ![]()

*sighs*, how many people do i have to correct on this issue... au's were lighter than the EF and the EL. Not every falcon in history has gained weight. The AU is 36kg lighter than the EF (1505kg plays 1541kg.) though 36 kilo's plays sweet FA in a cars accel when it weighs one and a half a tons. Condition and driver will play the crucial role. The AU auto is programed a lot softer, I know coz mums got the EF and Ive got an AU and the gearbox's are worlds apart in terms of shift speed and firmness in econ mode. pretty simmilar in power. The AU has a way too soft shift in econ resulting in poorer feel on acceleration.

My dual-fuel (Sprintgas) AU labours from around 3400 to 4000 on the tacho, about where the BBM switches over (3800), then picks up again to just past 5000 or so. I've modded my intake, 3" pipe into the airbox with a pod on the end, plus a snorkel. I'll be making another intake mod soon to force more air in ![]()

cheers for that gezza thought red books had missed one. aparently not. wtf would it make less power? ED's did away with clutch fans and went to thermo's, they should on that fact alone make more. weirdness.
