wondering if the el intake mouth is a straight swap over for a ba or an fg mouth?

yep sure is man.you might have to swap over the rubber down the bottom but with a little persuasion you'll get it.i had to change the rubber to fit my el xr intake to the ba box...

yeah came with the car.i was going to go ss induction but then i seen my mates ss induction snorkel and thought its not even that much bigger then mine.

Yep, wild-el's snorkel is off the EL GT - I believe still available new at a reasonable cost from Ford. It's a straight 2-minute swap on the EF-EL. I have seen EF-ELs with the AU/BA XR8/XR6T snorkel - it's about the same airflow as the EL GT - but they had to do a small amount of trimming of the left and right edges to clear the different E-series rad support shape.
