Hi,
Our starter motor got stuck yesterday, RACV attended and tried to bang it with a hammer but ended up towing the car back to our house. When we got it in the driveway, it turn over no problem, I have done one trip and no problem with starting. I have never had a problem with a starter motor and would like advice. Is it likely to be a recurring problem or once every 20 years ? If its a sign the starter motor is on the way out, then maybe I should get it replaced. Thoughts ? thank you Andrew |

The solenoid is sticking & it will keep doing it, so best to get a new one fitted.
Quite often you can do what the RAC guy did, tap the top of the starter & it will "maybe" spring to life... if you're lucky!! |
