so u get about 8 rwkw gain from slapping it on, and 20 rwkw with a good tune... so its not 20 rwkw gain for less than $500, a custom tune is usually between $500 and $1000, depending on where u go, and if u read that guys thread, it looks like there was a bit involved, custom brackets he had to make, and a bit of other fidly stuff... i dont think its worth the hassle for 8 rwkw.... u wouldnt even notice a difference, but for 20 rwkw its worth the effort i spose. Realistically including parts and a tune it'd cost about $1000 - $1500 to get it up and running with the 20 rwkw gain... not $500

Also ever think that it could be say, the last mod before a tune? For eg. You have full exhaust system, under drives etc. You've already got a growler or some form of CAI. You do the FG manifold conversion last, so it won't be all out of whack for too long. Realistically, it's probably the cheapest mod you can do for an expected extra 20rwkw. Most BA's make 165-175rwkw with basic bolt-ons tuned, but to be able to push that up to 180+ for an extra couple hundred is definitely worth the hassle.

well you won't throw it on without a tune... if you read the thread properly, you would of seen that it ran like a pig without the tune. And when it comes to n/a, every little bit counts. Turbo is so easy, you just wind up the boost, hope nothing breaks and go have fun...

^^^ this is true, turbo is the way for me, but i can respect a well built n/a, i was simply curious as to why the fg manifold was a viable upgrade, wen i asked originally the op replied "cuz i can", so looking into it abit now im convinced with a tune its a worth while upgrade, for 20 rwkw on an n/a. Im curious also what the torque increase would be aswell, cuz at the end of the day its the torque that gets the car moving.

well the dude that made 20rwkw extra with it, had a 75mm SS Inductions TB... so he would of lost a fair chunk of torque from that alone. It would still have more torque than running the standard manifold, but won't know unless you did an identical back to back run on same dyno.

sorry if it sounded like I was having a go at you also, been so sleep deprived the last few days due to my body not wanting to sleep until 4am (might need booze to fix this one...)

And yes, Dazz can get a bit blunt on his replies (if you read through his existing threads on other forums haha). But i respect the fact he has a well built n/a xr6 that puts out a very nice time.

My ported head made an extra 50 lb/ft at 4000rpm with my cams !

I try this manifold i have nothing to lose and all the results to back it up will be kept for future wannabe's on the forums ...if it works yay if it don't yay.

I will keep my results to myself to keep the troll's at bay ...cheers

Pics are deleted if ya didn't notice, because i got all the assistance i needed on Facebook and nothing from here that i didn't already know, but thanks for the links anyway...

Banned on AFF (I've lost count how many times) comes back to a forum he hasn't frequented for ages with the offer of shared info, then has a tantrum and takes the information when no-one is able to help.

Trying something new and sharing information....? ... yeah right.
