The spare tyre well in my EA falcon boot is rusted out and I need to replace it, I have a few questions about it.
Which other E series falcon will fit? Would one out of a station wagon fit into a sedan? Is this a common problem? |

Hi, basically you can only use an 'E' series sedan boot floor so EA/EB/ED not sure re EF/EL tho. the wagooon rear floor is totally different to the sedan as it has a 'square[ish] opening for the fuel tank & then the spare wheel mounts to the tank, and the fuel outlet is to the passenger side underneath [fuel pump & wiring]. i presume there may have been a plastic/rubber bung missing from the floor & this has let some water/moisture in. and as it got more rust holes it let even more water/moisture in. you 'may' also have some moisture coming from elsewhere around the rear of the car such as the rear window, behind the 'C' pillar covers etc. it's a common problem with most older cars. |
