anyone considered making one like drif6 uses?

Hi

drif6 plenum setup looks good but how well it works is another story

the throttle body has be rotated 180 degrees clockwise , i can see that setup favouring the middle cylinders and possible running them a lot leaner than the others further outwards like cylinder numbers 1,2 and 5,6.

The plenum looks like its a cast unit ??? does anybody know the manufacturer ?

I might be wrong this is my opinion from a visual perspective only.

This is what we quickly knocked up for my car. Not the most technically advanced thing in the world but it's better than the stock BBM.

And I have also modified the bottom half of the manifold like turbotrana.

the nizpro plenum apparently only use the secondary side of the runners. therefore you take out the secondary runners vacum operated butterflys and match port to your plenum. well anyway this is wat the bloke who sold me my plenum told me. i beleive him as he has rb30 plenums on sub 10sec cars.

i know with forced induction on the holden 5.0l motor to make more power you reduce the length of the runners, will in unforced induction holden 5.0l you will sometimes see people increase the length of the runner to increase torque. it will make 2 tenths of f**k all making your inlet to your runners larger than the runners themselves.

it all got too hard when i moved away from home, thats what the hold up is... that and the fact i have some work to do on my own car again now, namely new cooler, plenum, and exhaust

If you can squeeze out one more I would talk to you about buying it. Other wise I will be learning how to do it myself!

well, were making another 3 of our plenums, since i had a bit of a scrounge around the shed over the weekend, and found 3 bases, 3 throttle body plates.. gotta make all the sides and tops, and all the bits and pieces for the vac ports/map sensor etc.. so, it will happen, just not straight away....

the other thing i have planned, is to make some water/air cooler cores like im going to be using.. i want to make mine first, see whats involved, and if its cost effective i will knock a couple up.. this wont be for a few weeks, gonna be about 2 weeks before my cooler arrives from the u.s
