Just wondering, how could I tell my XR6T I just brought is the proper engine? On the compliance it says Engine Type 'Y', is this turbo? :o
***Also, it has VOID VOID VOID VOID all over the 'compliance stickers' on the white details in the engine bay.

Post pics of your compliance stickers.

And yes Y is the code for the I6 Turbo.

H for NA 4.0
S for LPG
Z for 5.4 V8

For the tranny
K for 5spd man
H 4 speed auto column shift
W 4 speed auto floor shift

Body code should be
SW for XR sedan
CM for XR ute

Model code
18335 for XR Sedan

Was looking for this EVERYWHERE thats awesome.

The car doesn't have a service history (i know right...) didn't check in the log books and what would you know, this is why I'm assuming I managed to get it for 15K@80,000kms

Here's the best part, my local mechanic, who I would trust with my child, for a carton of beer (which I didnt have to supply, just thought it was the right thing ;)) hoisted her up yesterday and had a good look in/out/drive/thrash/everything at first he hated the fact it was a BA Falcon, he hated the fact it was a Ford and hated the fact that was it a Turbo even more (used etc)... At first I was panicing..worrying...going omg what did I just buy....

A while later, after reviewing the car, checking through it... these are the only things he could fault (which I thought was great)...

[*]Power Steering Housing Leaking a slight bit of oil (rear seal?) which will be under warranty
[*]ABS Sensors had alot of metal shavings (magnetised) on them.
[*]The fact it needed a radiator flush due to the obvious lack of changing even though Ford said it had been serviced..i.e oil change + tyre shine + tyre pressure lol.
[*]Aftermarket S/S Intercooler Hose clamp was able to rub onto radiator hose (which he fixed for me)

He said there is NO way that this car has been thrashed or NOT serviced, I'd say its got cheap ford oil in it and the fuel fitler/radiator has probably not been flushed and since its coming up to it's 100KM service, I'm going to do that in the next 2 weeks with him anyways....

He commented on the body/interior/engine on how great/immaculate it was for a 7 year old car. I also have had it for 1000kms and I have driven it quite hard.. averagin 17-18l/100kms...lol... Since I showed him this there were no oil leaks / obvious faults (as they pressure clean at ford?), no under scrapings on the car etc...

Compression test showed no signs of weakness and also he pulled the turbo apart and found no obvious signs of wear there etc...

Basically I feel as this was owned by some 40yr old with kids, that this car was WELL looked after... Gem in the rough if you know what i mean... :) :) : ) let's hope!
