Just wondering what a cleveland would do if its set to far advanced on the cam timing

How far advanced are we talking?
By advancing the cam you're lowering the rev range, she'll kick in early but lose rpm up top.

Yes how far is the question?
You can get piston to valve problems and problems with charge reversion.
Of course the problem can occur with any engine...not just a cleveland.
