I have an AU series one instrument cluster made 6/99. This is a high series tickford cluster with the orange lcd read out. So would it be smartlock with the orange read out because I know the change to smartshield was made late in series one. By the way this cluster is not in a vehicle it is for an upgrade to smartlock fairmont(high series)

but would the cluster make a diff at all

ie a smartsheild cluster in a smartlock car

They say there were subtle wiring differences which cause gremlins. ????
