This has probably been covered before but i am wondering if it is possible to put an au2 motor into an xf.

What are the clearances like in the engine bay.

Cheers

ECU likes to talk with body control module and dashboard for smartlock/smartshield etc.

you would most likely have to go to an aftermarket ECU, so if you can get the BCM (or is it BEM - i forget) and the rest of the dash wiring i suggest you do, even then your gonna have troubles with the ignition lock, you should be able to run the au motor (with a coupla changes) with an EB (pre smatlock one) computer. (without the broadband manifold)

If you use a series 1 au vct motor and computer with smartlock (ive got one for sale   )
you can buy a module from petroject that disables the smartlock and allows you to obsolete the BEM
