Hi ,I am looking for info on removing chrome strips from F/Rear windows and side strips above doors (on the roof) .There must be some sort of tool that can be made,the car is 1962 xk falcon.Thanks in advance

Are these the alloy ones that run along the roof line?

Usually you can pop on side off near the end of join in the center and twist them off very gently and they still maintain they're shape.

If in doubt it may be an idea to contact rare spares or scotts old auto rubber to see if these items are replaceable.

the trims are made of stainless steel. the windscreen trims are sat into the window rubbers and are then fitted ,so to remove, the rubber must be removed at the same time. so windows have to come out. with the gutter trims they are fiddly to remove and are easily damaged. if you are going to reuse them i would suggest a competant panelbeater remove them
