As per title, just wondering how you would tell if you got an ex cop car.

I know theres a few things that vary from state to state....but what the f**k are these things??? so i can cross check them.....

Any info on identifying, would love to know....cheers.

has it been hit in every panel, and look like
the roof has been caved in!!
its an ex-copcar then.
some have diffrent speedo's ect.
mainly just smashed by young morons though.

Chances are it will have a close increment speedo and some extra wiring still installed.
I recently worked on a WB ute that was an ex chaser and beleive it or not all the wiring for the extra lights was still in there. Seems that when they sell old cars off they just cut the wires at the lights and repair the holes.

the old pursuit cars had ghia headlights,black front bar and under the bar wasnt painted also had the little rubber chin spoiler,had the instument dash,ghia roof light inside with the map lights,3.23 lsd diff,s**t seats with rubber mats,the xds had a engine oil cooler but i dont know if the xes did,and in vic were just plain coulers like orange,white,beige,yellow ect,they even had the s**t 14" steel rims,thats all i know hope that helps,im not saying thats how they all were but its how mine was,and the few mates ect had back in the days

also had 4w disks and tramp rods on the rear of the XD's
different brake system aswell (same as the ESP)
sump guards aswell

thats all good for the pusuit cars.....but the normal cars....city cars....not highways...

If its 'cop spec', it should have OPT36 on the right hand bottom of the build plate. Keep in mind this photo was taken from an XF so the may be different from an XE.

My mate has an EL Futura ex cop car (OPT 20 stamped on the compliance plate) and if you look closely you can still see the outline of the numbers on the roof.

Some of them had bloody great holes drilled in the roof for aerials look for dodgy repairs or aerial bases still there
