hi all i just bought a 94 xg ute and i needed to know how to install a smartlock remote because it didnt come with one also wanted to know if i can fit a better cluster what fits and is it easy.

XG's (faily sure) didn't come factory with keyless entry only XH..

yeah they have smartlock just not keyless entry..

As mentioned, central locking is not fitted to XG's (so no keyfobs) - it can be wired up though, although I'd suggest aftermarket actuators, they'll give you no problems in the long run.
The BEM is of the same type as the EBII/ED, so the door lock lines can be connected.
You'll need to run the boot line from the BEM to the diagnosis connector, so you have provision to train the smartlock keyfobs.

ok so if i rum wires to the doors and connect actuators then what is the method of learning a remote i now how to do it on a ef el but not on the eb

In your case, the diagnosis connector pin you need to earth is the one you've connected to the BEM.

the smartlock light flashes and it wont let me start the car ,the radio is missing would that make the smartlock think that it gfot stolen, the warning light code is 5 which is open clock circiut what the hell, where is the clock and why would that affect the smartlock, help please
