i really should get along - just to check out all the great XD's and say 'in a few years time I'll be doing circle work around 'em'!! Once I get the cash I'll definitely be there as an entrant in a few years.

What a s**t pleace to live it would be....

You could probably nab a hotel (if there is any in cbr) for a reasonable price.

I 've been going up for 12 years as a trader to the Nats. Its good for a look around and has good museums, but I find it a sterile city and unusual how if you drive for a meal to the hellinic club in Woden you feel as if you are going bush but its a suburb.

haha, i like all these plans, i went to the nats last year, it was good, the cars, the smoke, and last but far from least, the babes, a few walking round with tops off, hangin outta car windows like that..etc etc.

unfortunately tho, and i am very annoyed about this, i aint going this year, mum in all her wisdom decided to book our holiday in queensland to start on the 7th, so were leaving on the 6th...funny how she managed to book it then, of all days!!!(not that im complaining about going to queensland...lol)

yeah so no luck guys, the plan for the 2006 nats (if theyre on still), is were taking 2 motos and 2 cars, with 5-6 people, were taking the falcon(1997 futura), my mates mazda astina(dont know what year, older tho), my bike, and my mates bike.

we are not taking the bikes with the intention to burn em up, but as i learnt after watching a 1992 laser smoke a layer, along with every other car that drove past the 80litres of water they threw across the road, it aint gunna matter to them.

anyone whos thinking of going, but aint sure, i have this to say: JUST GO!!!!

its one of the few places where u get to stand right next to a turbo'd el falcon and watch him smoke to s**t house with 5 people in the car!!!

my biggest memory from the nats is when we were coming into canberra in the morning, mum thought the car was like overheating and gunna explode, i told her not to worry, and i opened the window, greeted by the ever so distinctive smell of burning rubber.

yeah, well thanks for reminding me, i was gunna post about the nats after smoking a decent layer off the falcon just this arvo, never miss the smell.

anyway, that was a long post about nothing, cya

You need to book well in advance to get a reasonable motel. Most around the summernats are very average accomadation appears to me a old housing commision area. One year at the Edward Barton motel d**k heads were throwing fireworks under cars  and at another motel close by that we stayed in a few years earlier they smashed bottles around the swimming pool which forced the closer of the pool.
I now stay in the forrest area within walking distance to the Manuka village shops. A bit of a drive .
