Hi, hope someone can help - I've just fitted a single rail 4 spd from an XF which has an electronic speedo out put - 3 wires. My old setup (in an XB ) was a cable - tho this has never worked since I've owned the car, so I'm thinking of getting an XF speedo - anyone know what the wiring setup is? Even if you can let me know what the 3 gearbox sender wires are - I know one is supposed to be the pulse signal but what are the others? Power? Earth?

Hoping you can help!

If anyone's watching this topic, I figured it out - off the sensor there's 3 wires, black is earth, white is sensor, red (or blue) is power - same at the XF dash end, white is sensor, black is earth, red with blue stripe is power. The trick, though, is connect all 3 wires from sender to dash, then run power into the power wire, earth to the earth wire (so both the sensor and dash get power and earth) but, if like I did, you try connecting just the speedo itself, nothing will happen - you need to look on the printed circuit board in the XF cluster where you'll see 2 diodes and a resistor which must sit in the circuit between power and the white sensor - or alternatively use a .5 amp resistor as a pull up resistor between white and power.

Sorry, not white and power - look at the actual printed circuit on the cluster, it looks to be earth and power ...(I'm just cutting that entire section out of the board...
