Yeah, sounds like the inhibitor switch that sits on the transmission. The starter relay is the rear most one in the bank of 4 relays that sit between the battery and the fender. The inhibitor allows/disallows power to run through the relay coil, so you can pull the relay, check which 2 terminals of the relay holder are the relay coil connections, have someone operate the ign key, and check which terminal gets 12v on start (ensure in P or R for this operation). Insert the relay, you can then temporarily earth the other terminal to bypass the inhibitor switch - ensure though you are in P or R before starting. You then at least have operation of the vehicle while you attend to the inhibitor switch, which may just need cleaning. I suppose if this isn't the problem, at least you've eliminated the inhibitor switch . . . .

Thanks for that! Had a few probs with the smartlock system a while back n the sparky said there was water getting in (fixed that prob now) n would have to replace the computer eventually - guess may as well get that done too.

Thanks for your help guys, looks like it was the park/neutral switch - cost of $95 to replace is apparently a common thing for falcons. Now i can get started on the external mods :D

Its a shame i havent learnt to do these things myself prolly could have saved even more money.

XH-UTE = female

exterior first - dunno i am looking at a few kits, not much about for the XH utes tho. Tiz a place in WA that can fit skirts and front, but not too sure on that. Was thinking of el xr, but again not sure if i wanna be "stock standard".

any suggestions?
