Can anyone help with a pic of the boot light and wiring fitted to XA Fairmont Coupe? I am trying to get mine back to original, the previous owner cut the wiring and put in a push/pull switch. I have heard that the light had a mercury switch and therefore no light switch was fitted (switch like the door jambs) I have looked through the XA workshop manual, which has been no help. I am also looking for the "PULL TO TIGHTEN" tab that goes on the rear seatbelt, must be brown. Hopefully someone can help. The coupe is original unrestored, just these little bits to get it spot on.

Cheers

Chris

my xa coupe had the door style white switch near the right hand boot hinge which then ran to a socket that clipped into a hole under the parcel tray, i have no pictures just going from memory of 14 years ago.

Thanks for your reply. There is a light in place, but the wiring has been cut. There is also a switch as you describe but it dosn't look factory. There is an All Ford Day on the 14th of October at the Kedron Sports Club, 6th Ave Kedron, Brisbane. I will try to get a look at other Coupe's and get a look at the correct wiring. If anybody does have a coupe and can take some pic's I would be very greatful.

Thanks again rustyeb1991

Cheers

The light loom is the one on the bottom right and yes it uses a door switch which activates off the hinge mech!

Thanks BAWITHLOT. I know what I'm looking for now. The original owner had cut and moved the light to the boot latch area. The wire colour was green/yellow. Not sure if this is the right colour. Lucky for me the rubber plug that is near the RH wheel arch is still intact.

Thanks again to all that have helped.

Cheers
