Hey there guys, just wondered if you could help me out with a quick question -
is it true that a 79 XD has a different bonnet to an 80 onwards XD?

Cheers,
Shadow

although they interchanged. trying to cast my memory back, but cant exactly remember the difference.

I believe there is a difference in the bonnets , i think it got to do with the hinge mounting from memory...

as for LTD, don't be fooled there the same bonnet with the grill mounts welded to the bonnet frame. wouldn't be hard to convert a falcon bonnet to a LTD

unfortunately, it's rare to find a falcon bonnet thats had the LTD grille added that doesnt end up cracking the paint and looking like s**t

the LTD bonnet is a fairlane bonnet with the extensions welded on.
back when we use to get $1000 for a bonnet we use to buy ZL bonnets
new and weld the extensions on.

there is a differance between the 79 to the 80/81, and it has got to do with how the hinges are bolted to the bonnet.
