Guys, thanks again for the feedback.

Now to the questions:

Snap0964, when you say I would need an Ef/EL clock plug do you mean to connect to the rear of the trip computer? Also what do you mean that I would need another clock plug or inst cluster plug to rob the extra pins need to make up the trip computer plug.
This is an excerpt from the Trip computer doco link from my last post (very important to read the docos and do your research):

"All model Falcons have pre-installed wiring for connecting the Ford Panel Clock Module. (With Exception to the Fairmont/Fairlane/LTD Models)
There are no further connections that need to be made to connect and Run the Clock.
The Ford Trip Computer Module uses the same connector as the Ford Panel Clock,
BUT a further 3 wires need to be added, in order for the Trip Computer Module to function correctly.
NOTE : Only Vehicles fitted with a Trip Computer from the Factory, will have all the required wiring for the trip computer to function
This Means that for EF/EL GLi, Futura, XR6, XR8 models, YOU WILL NEED TO RUN THESE 3 EXTRA WIRES FOR THE TRIP COMPUTER TO FUNCTION !"

XH's never came from the factory with a Trip computer or clock - the clock was integral with the base series radio. So you need to wire in the plug + add the 3 extra wires to run the Trip computer, this is where the extra pins come in - so you get them from another clock plug, or an instrument cluster plug, because they are the same pins. Don't do what some people have done and push the wires in to the plug back, or glue them - do it properly 1st time, so you won't have intermittent wiring problems later on.

That looks perfect snap!

I was also considering the dash conversion. Ive seen pics of someone who put an EA dash in there XF, and ive seen EA's with EF dashes so maybe its more possible than we think....dont know, only 1 way to find out. If i cant do that i was going to put my trip computer in an overhead console.

Let us know how you go wobbo

Yeah, unfortunately it's still uncharted territory.

Well the current batch of mods:
Trip comp: $50 for the TC, plus paint, etc all up $70.
Power windows: about $120 - $130 for parts.
Cup holders: $5 - $10.
ABS install: $200
Power Antenna: $40
Factory cruise: $50

The key here is to collect your parts over time - utilise opportunities like Ebay, pick a part wreckers , etc. Where you can get stuff pretty cheap.

Trade secret - it'll be something people reckon can't be done.
