go TKO or T56 if you plan on more power. The problems with T5's is case flex. this causes 3rd gear to move, and then strip.

Hey man, good to see a thread up on this car. As per my thread, saw it a few years ago and really liked it back then.

For your paint, dunno if you have someone in particular that you want to go with, but if you don't, Michael Peake from Newell St Smash Repairs is very good at what he does. Not the cheapest, but one of the best.

I used to race go karts with him, and I have already contacted him about painting mine when I am ready.

Cheers,
Nic

Hey ppls,
Well due to work commitments nothing has been touched and had few too many bathurst weekend to get gearbox out. Picked up another wheels magazine from 98 that has and actual article just on this svo. Have to scan and put up as got alot of good reading in it. Just would love to try and track down a set of the wheels that were on it new. I know they were a mullins wheel but they have ceased production years ago on this style. NQPFC sounds alright but more looking at fnq all ford club know quite a few people and heard its bit more family orientated so with the young fella sound like more the go.

hey ppls, Well its been ages since ive been on here I managed to up date ford forums so I better do this one aswell. Well I found an el xr8 manual on the net late last year that looked in not too bad condition to use as spares. After the 5 hour drive to pick it up it was way too clean to pull apart so now I have two of them and back at square one with the svo. Well its been confirmed im going a tko gearbox as yeh the one I pulled out was a t5z and its totaled ill throw pics up tomoz. Kinds stripped the svo its awaiting rust repairs for the sills so I bought a clean ef Fairmont last week with no rust in the sills.
