What ever it is, if that exchange rate is correct (a few posts up) then for 10grand a six pot race car and a V8 falcon is a good deal.

Here is the story in the car. It was imported in 2000 by a well known professional racing driver called Steve Wyndham. It was bought as a donor for his V8 racing car. In order for the car to get legally into South Africa they had to strip the car and declare it as parts. The only parts they used from the car was the front and rear bars. That’s why the different shades on the bars and the damage signs on it. The build number of the car is 12 and only the dash is not the original one. It got lost during transit.
I took the car for a spin down the Cape West Coast and it was an experience!!! . It drives like a brand new car. I own a X3 30D and Focus 20TDCI both these cars are less than 4 years old but the TE50 is more quiet on the road. It really drives fantastic. It’s an amazing car. I am used to people starring at my XR6 but this was something different. I drove about 135km and used only 16L of petrol. It worked out to 8.5km per litre. It is impressive seeing that my speed was between 140km and 160km. Oh yes, the first thing I did was to put its original wheels back on. Now it looks stunning. I am also going to source a high spec dash for the car and new bars. For R100K with 30000km on the clock it’s a true bargain. The pictures will follow. WATCH THIS SPACE!! |

It was R100K for the TE50 and not both the cars. A 2000 XR6 go for about R50K in SA but than It must still be in mint condition. The price on this car compare well to the Chev Lumin SS/HOLDEN. I could have bought one long time ago but they say "good things comes to those who wait"

Good to hear, Would be cheaper to just get a fairmont dash from Australia than trying to source one locally?

Also, keep an eye on Ebay Australia, there has been a few correct climate control and dash spears on there recently, I am sure someone like myself could do something like ship it for yourself if you purchased and needed an Australian address to send it to initially.

Its nice seeing one in your driveway isn't it!
I changed the original rims, still got them, but the 19" Speedy Cheetahs look pretty damn good to, Enjoy yours.

Oh, another thing, These were made to be a Tourer, so don't you dare lock it in a garage, They are one of the nicest cars I have ever driven, they just soak up the miles.

Attachment: Parow-20130203-00055.jpg The VIN is 6FPAAAJGSWYA99387. It is indeed a wonderful feeling having one in you driveway. Very nice. I will never lock it away. I travel a lot for business purposes so I will use it as often as possible. My next business trip is on Thursday to George on the south coast and it’s about 450km from Cape Town. I use to enjoy myself with the XR6 on the road to George. It got lots of twists, turns and long up and down hills. So I am looking forward to it.On the downside the price of petrol is going up again tomorrow so a litre will be around R11.92 on the coast. To fill it up will about R822.48. I wonder will I get there with a full tank whiles only driving 120KM?? You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. |
