wow you really want her to take the blame dont you...

and another thing is you dont want to shut down a motor when the temp is in the red, you need to cool the motor before hand by running cold water through the system or across the radiator otherwise it will seize the pistons. but im sure you know that

huggiebear. How many race cars do you own and maintain yourself ????????????? I would be very interested to see the condition of your engines............ lol

The motor should have been shut down as soon as the alternator light came on knowing that on an EA the alternator belt runs the water pump. If this had of been done then the engine temp wouldn't have even been anywhere near overheating.

I am not on here to take the piss out of anyone or make any enemies but you really shouldn't comment on things you have no knowledge about.

Also not trying to make Katty an enemy either but it pisses me off that she continuely puts down her engine builder and is bad mouthing him to anyone who will listen when it is clearly not his fault and I know the guy and his work is of a very high standard. He has been building race cars and engines for many years.

i own none, but i know from experiences what i would have done. its amazing what cold water on a radiator will do even without a water pump as hot water will rise it still circulates and it does help but you do what you like and ill do what i like.

if what katty says is true about bits and pieces not being installed correctly id be annoyed at the builder also.

YES I WAS PAYING ATTENTION TO THE TEMP AND IT WAS NORMAL BRAD.... UNTIL I GOT TO PITS THEN IT SHOWED. oh and i love the romour thats going around that i did three laps of P.I without no water in the system... someone doesnt have the facts right.... So yes i think i;m allowed to blame people. we paid money we are honest people and they lost my trust and a whole lot more people are going in my bad book as we go...

p.s dont ever let anyone borrow things off ur car when ur car is outta action and someone needs one to finish day. eg power steering pump... coz u wont get it back.

Is it just me or is this thread being picked apart by people having guilt attacks and deleting their posts? I really hate it when people do that. Anyways. I dont know who your engine builder is, but if hes putting rods in backwards and chucking any old oil pump into a rebuild then he sounds like a cheap hack, that is of course that you're paying for all the new bits every time and not limiting what he can do by making him work to a (low) budget. We used to build HQ race motors back in the mid 90's and at one particular national meeting at hidden valley we had the 2 fastest cars at the end of the straight out of about 40 cars. Blew 3 motors up doing it at about $4 grand a pop. Those motors died because the drivers got to hot under the collar when they should have just been doing slow laps running rings and bearings in, there may have been some rules bent in there somewhere a swell but that was a long time ago. Anyways, Katty and her dad appear to be doing ok for themselves, I think the people on here should stop blowing smoke up other peoples a*** and stop being patronizing to katty for that matter and let her do her thing her way. And watch out the next guy who puts a slug in upside down, you will feel some wraith lol.

Great thread!! (Apart from the group hissy fit on pg4 :) :) ) I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
Good luck with your future races!!
And remember, in all forms of motor sport; things go crunch, things go bang, but as long as you can walk through your front door at the end of the day........... s**t Happens.
Cars can be fixed. :D

Sits nice and flat in turn 3, highlighted by the German 2 door commodore in the background.

Considering its a slight off camber and dropping turn it looks pretty composed.

What times did you run? full course or short circuit?
