After browsing Gumtree for car parts I thought Id check out the cars and im glad I did as soon as I seen the ad and also seen it was in rocko I had to go have a look. So the next day I went down to the dealership and there it was sitting down the back a ED Fairmont Ghia, Full leather and a V8.

So being Xmas I had to wait till after Boxing day to go buy it before some other guy that was interested in it, as soon as that was done it was mine.

First drive home it felt so good the rumble the response of just tapping the go pedal it was just the best. Had to drive out to my missus work as I left the house keys at home so I got to really see what it was like I think the speedo may be out a little or Im just not used to it 100kms does not feel like it so will have a closer look into that.

Ok, enough chatter, time for some specs and pics.

1994 ED Fairmont Ghia 5.0L V8
Full Leather
Lowered
Exhaust
Crappy Stereo
Sunroof ( needs to be fixed)
New Tyres on 5 Spoke alloys
164000km
Thermos
Sprint side skirts (possibly)

Buying from a dealership your gonna get screwed somehow so I guess how much I paid for it maybe thats where, $2500.

The last pic shows the roof and how crap the paint is up there and the also very crappy rear parcel shelf and will be removed, the rear door trims have big 6x9 speakers in them as well so they are ruined but been thinking of stripping the Was-Project EL for some parts for this car.

Future plans are not a whole lot:
Window tint
Extractors
Transfer parts from both cars onto this including stereo, wheels and body parts.

If anyone who sees this has seen the Other ED Mont I own expect some pretty good Sh** to happen with this.

I hope people enjoy this as much as I do.

P.S will get pics of engine bay tomorrow.

cheers :)

Looks good man, shame about the top paint but when do anyone see it anyways, not bad kms for the price, seen heaps of theses cars in the 2-300,000kms for the same asking price. Needs pics of the engine though.

Cheers.

Ive taken some snaps today of the engine bay and with my other car as well for you all to look at.

Love this photo, 2 monts together

Took the stereo facia out today to see if I could put my other stereo in it and WOW at the jungle of wires in there it was truly amazing at what the previous owner had done.

Today went for a long drive to pick up the front lip took an hour longer because of a big bush fire so down some twisty roads never felt a car stick to the ground like this did, it never bounced around like the "other ED" does. While looking in the engine bay today I looked down to the rubber bushes that are noticeble in the bay and they are Red so look fairly new as well.

While on the drive I have noticed the whining sound coming from the rear of the car when I accelerate it is annoying because id hate for the car to sh** itself while im driving it, Ive been noticing a few faults as I go over the car more and more but I have 2 cars here I could swap parts with if need be.

Hope you guys like the pics.

Nice can also notice the difference in them, are they just a direct fit?

Very nice. The 8 fills up the engine bay nicely.

Just spent a fortune on oils for the car hahaha

Today was change the engine oil and filter and im glad I did the oil was very black and smelt horrible.

New oil and oil filter in started her up and she sounded so much better the idle was smooth even kinda noticed a different note with the exhaust probs just because it was running smoother. Will be changing diff fluid tomorrow maybe in my non-LSD grrrr

Next will be trans service new filter and fluid.

Also while being under the car I looked at the bushes and suspension and it has King springs in it and blue and red bushes in the front and just red ones in the rear and they look fairly new which is good. The underside of the car is just covered in redish dirt so it will need a really good pressure clean under there.

Well Ill be starting on the prep work for this.

First is sanding that horrible roof and get it in primer so it looks half decent, prep up some EL door handles.

Im going to need a new bonnet and most likely a new bootlid as the previous owner removed the spoiler and used silicone or something to fill the holes then bogged over the top so now its lifting and a lil rust is forming.

Ive now changed my mind about painting the 16" rims as I have found out they are hard to come by so will be cleaning them up and use them for now as theres new tyres on them and in the mean time save up for some AJR 18" rims or Fg xr option or Bf GT-P even though Ive never really been a fan of the ford rims as I see them alot the Fg xr rims have grown on me and would look sweet but I love dish and thats the AJR rims.

The theme for this car is Red, Black and Silver The new colour for this will be the Isuzu red that was going to be for the EL but it will look better on this. Here is the colour on my test gaurd

Image

Im tossing up whether or not to do the EA bump strips on the front 1/4 panels or leave them with the indicators, though I much prefer the smoothed look

I thought I would post some pics of what ive been working on for the last week, Ive changed the stereo to one that used to be in my ED mont, changed the ciggy lighter globe to a green LED and have been working on the rims by sanding them and polishing them up so they're nice and shiny and look kinda original and not crappy looking. Also changed the intake pipe to which I believe came off my project EL

First up is the new stereo

Next is the Green LED

While im cleaning up the rims im also cleaning up in the wheel wells by painting them black as they're filthy.

Hope you like.
Cheers :)
