Yeah I had a look at crow cams but I wasn't too keen on what they offered. CMS seem to have good cams, but if you have the money go custom with someone like CVE who I'll make the cam suit the flow of the head giving better HP. I might end up doing that eventually any how.

Not much of an update,
I'm picking up a second EL XR head and full rocker gear on Friday from a fellow member, so at least the head work can be done and the cam installed.
I'll post a few pictures of it when I mange to get it....

Have been pricing up insurance for the XR with all the headwork I will be getting. Most insurance agents won't touch me, being a P plater Shannon's ( who I'm with now ) said they would for $5000 per annum.... Yeah I ain't doing that. I'm thinking of taking it out of my name and putting in my parents but we"ll see.
Any suggestions about insurance?

Don't worry about insurance man it's an e series. If it ever got smashed up just re shell, it would be alot cheaper.

Just make sure you have 3rd party insurance.

Yeah the only thing is that it has 80,000 original K's, so I'm a little protective of it lol

Yeah I only have 3rd party, fire and theft at the moment for my EL Fairmont with JustCar...the only insurance that would cover me with the number of modifications for a good price. Shannons was dearer for third party, fire and theft, however their full comp was excellently quoted for an agreed value. Was still too much for me seeing it is just an E-series after all.

At the moment I have full comprehensive with an agreed value of $8,000 on the car. But I'm paying $1100 per annum.

For 8,000 you could just about by the rest of the E series's left in Australia now lol.

Yeah If I ever did any major panel damage to mine I would just take all the running gear and put it into another rust free shell. That's where all the money is in the engine work and running gear. I'm sure you could buy a cheap ef/el with a stuffed motor for next to nothing. That's what I would do if it ever happened to me. But I know the limits of my car and don't do stupid s**t to put my car in danger.. Haha spent way too much on it to crash it... Just not an option. :P
