what's a 5TDD it came out of a 97 XH 5 speed with factory gas and i cant find another one

I've got a 95 EF Fairmont sedan, 4.0L auto, and I looked at my ecu earlier today coz im trying to find a new one, and my code is 4DCD, which according to this list is for a wagon... Should I be worried? And should I get the same code if I'm chasing a new ecu, or order one of the 4DCF ones?

The main difference between wagon and sedan ECU's is the transmission change possitions.. as for the engine side of things there is no difference.. 4DCD and 4DCF are basicly the same thing, the 4DCF is just a leter version of the 4DCD.. I'd be chasing a 4DBx (x Being any letter) this would be much more common, and cheaper to buy, there is a guy on ebay that has heaps of them for sale, about $30ea IIRC... |

Cheers man. So wouldnt I be best off chasing a 4DCF? Get everything back into line for a sedan? I've been in contact with that guy on ebay, looks lioke pretty much all of what he has is just as cheap. He's got 4DCD's, dunno about CF's tho.

can anyone tell me what a 5TDD is i need to find a new one eather the same or one that will do the same thing ist from a 97 XH longreach 6 factory 5 speed factory gas got a 5DAC in it now but its runing like s**t and i cant use my gas any help would be great cheers

5TDD = XHI 6cyl(coil pack) 5spd Man, Tickford LPG you will need to locate another one the same, as nothing else will run the LPG, you could try a 4DAx (x being any letter) but the LPG wont work. |

Yea cheers man. I figured they were, but read something about the gear shift points being different because of different diff ratio's or something. Oh well, the one i got in now worked fine before it got spiked, so one of those it is

I have a 4TFB in my EF1 XR6 wagon auto Jun95 build non-LPG. I think it's the original ECU. I haven't come across that code on Fordmods or anywhere else. Is there any meaning in the 'FB'?

So, the code means:
4 = introduced '94, that is EF model T = Tickford modified F = XR6 Auto long wheelbase = wagon B = second revision Is this correct? Why is the wagon computer different from from the sedan? The engine, auto trans, diff ratio are identical in the EF XR6. Which maps or settings would be different?

Which brings me to wonder why the auto shift points are different? Is this simply as the diff ratios are 3:28?
