Just thought i would ask if anyone out there is running a EMS Stinger in their falcons.

I just got my engine and transmission rebuilt ready for the turbo i have sitting on the shelf at home, and the performance shop installed an EMS Stinger to run the whole show.

It has these options

* Injector types eg, Multi-Point 1, Multi-Point 2 & Throttle Body
* Anti-Lag, Drag and Rally
* Selectable sensor applications eg Magnetic or Hall
* Selectable triggers
* Selectable No. Cylinders
* Selectable Ignition types
* Stage Injection
* Boost Cut
* Rev Limit (Rev Soft)
* Rev Cut
* On Board Map Sensor
* Engine Status
* Displays current status of engine. ie

Water temperature in Deg C ( -20 to +235 )
Air temperature in Deg C ( -20 to +235 )
Manifold pressure in K.P.A ( -100 to + 155 )
Engine RPM ( 0 to 12500 )
Fuel pulse in milliseconds (mS) ( configurable )
Battery voltage in Volts ( 6.5 to 23 )
Throttle position in % opening ( 0 to 100 )
Ignition in Deg. advanced (Static to 51°)

--Inputs--

*Built in manifold pressure sensor to measure engine load.
*Barometric pressure compensation. (Autocompensation for different weather conditions and changes in altitude).
*Internal battery voltage sensing and compensation.
*Air temperature sensing (compensation to Fuel or Ignition)
*Water temperature sensing (compensation to Fuel or Ignition)
*Programmable for different Air/Water Sensors.
*Selectable - Hall, magnetic or optical on trigger circuit.
*Selectable - Hall, magnetic or optical on sync circuit.
*Throttle position sensing

--Outputs--

*Adjustable ignition timing ( 0 - 51 Deg. Advance in 0.2 Deg. increments).
*Adjustable dwell control ( 0 - 5 mS).
*4 Ignition outputs for sequential ignition timing.
*4 injector drivers incorporating 4 to 1 current ratio for injector response and lower power consumption

*2 Auxiliary outputs

Each o/p has 12 options – eg, Boost control, thermo fans,NOS, Tacho, Warning lights, A/conditioning control,Water Methanol Inj., Shift light, Idle control, Cam control (Vtec), Fuel pump control with automatic safety cut out if engine stalls, and many more.

*Data Logging to Laptop which was included as an optional feature

DO YOU THINK THIS WILL BE SUITABLE FOR MY APPLICATION
(CIRCUIT RACING, DRAG RACING and STREET CRUISING@Speed Limit)

spend a lil more and get the 8860
worth the extra dollars, youll save it in tuning time

The stinger does not do real time tuning which can cost more in the end than the 8860 if you're paying someone to tune.

also if you have a look it has very poor resolution in boost. Only 2 load sites.
Go for something more advanced if you want good drivability and more engine life. - see CPU comparison sticky.

Take a look at the EMS Website here is a comparison with the 8860 and the Stinger 3 - sorry should have said stinger 3 up in the first post. as that is what is in my car.

It has real time mapping and most of the other options that the 8860 has.

8860 for sure.

A few critial points

Drivers peak & hold 8 Vs 4 - You have a 6cyl, 4 injector outputs arent enough if you want to run sequential

3D tuning table RPM X Load sites (Maximum) 96 X 32 Vs 26 X 11 - Can never have too much resolution

Fuel table RPM/Load sites are independent of Ignition table YES vs NO - Independant tables would be benificial

^^^ thats the stinger your talking bout rite?

check the new auto tune software with the 8860, its to die for!

I made a entire fuel and ign map, 80% correct and much more drivable then before ( and efficent ) in about 2-3 hrs of driving on the street. Easy and cost effictive

I found a good EMS tuner in perth ( i thought there wasnt such a thing) with a dyno, so ill take it there after i have a bit more of a play and ill tell ya how it goes :D
