Do you mean the factory EEC, or are you running an aftermarket computer? and what software is it? You cannot just alter the EEC info, you need the hardware to go with it which is a J3 plug in chip/memory module which you can store the data on, and even then you will need the correct strategy files which don't really exist for the EF/EL's. Otherwise if you are running an aftermarket system, let us know what type and someone shoudl be able to help.

I THOUGHT I COULD ALTER THE FACTORY EEC SETTINGS BECAUSE THIS PROGRAM IS STAND ALONE SO IT CORRESPONDES DIRECTLY WITH THE EEC NOT WITH THE HARDWARE WICH THEN OVERRIDES THE EEC

No the factory programing cannot be altered directly, only via an expanded memory module like a chip. The software available on the net for ford EEC's (caledit, eectuner etc) need the hardware to go with it and then the correct programing to suit your EEC (which is hard in aussie EECs)

Ahhh OK, it is the software for Performance Electronics PE-ECU-1 stand alone engien management system. There is software like theis for the standard Ford EEC called Caledit (Tweecer) and EECTuner but as I said you need their hardware module which plus into the J3 port on the EEC and then the strategy file to suit your EEC. I run the tweecer module on my engine and it is great however at the moment it only has support for EB and ED V8 EEC's.

No it has taken years of development to get to this stage and even then aussie support is fairly low, the US guys have it better but there is still work to be done. Ford make it difficult to crack their EEC's by changing data location and functions so unles you are familiar with the system it would be almost impossible.

I've started a thread titled "it's hammer *cough* chip time" or something, with my exploits on chipping my EL ECU. It's not easy, so far the only reliable change I can make is the speed limited.

Was funny testing the 120KM/H limit on the highway *cough* test track.

It's NOT easy, and you con't do it with just the EEC. You need extra hardware.

last time I checked, the TwEECer guys had managed to get some internal ford docs.

If you had an Aussie V8, the easy way around things is to simply start using a US program in your EEC that suits the hardware. Your already streets ahead then.

Of course, the Aussie 6 is a b**ch, but if you had time you could work it out. You just need to understand assembler, get the right tools, and have *lots* of time.

.. or be lachlan from Chiptorque

You can't just use a US program with an aussie EEC, the only way to do it is to actually get hold of a supported US EEC but then you have problems with trans control (if you have an auto) and A/C. Yes thats what gave tweecer a good start, they managed to get the A9L (main mustang EEC) technical documents which helped a great deal with the majority of basic stuff.
