I had a workshop read the standard tune on my ecu today and they've found it to be a little strange. It would appear that at some point the computer has been replaced with one that has a "special" tickford tune that not even ford could shed any light on for us. all they said is it was an advanced program and didn't know why.
Just wondering if anybody here know anything or has heard of this happening? The car is an AU1 XR6 HP 5sp.

I didn't think the coppers had manuals, as they can't drive
 . As far as I can work out it started it's life as a drive car at a dealership

yeah coppers do have manuals.. my dad drives a truck and he carries cars and ages ago he had an ex cop car on. it was an EF and he took it for a blat.. it was manual with a heavy duty clutch and apparently it went very well...

What's the 4 character code on the ECU? (the catchcode).
That'll tell us what the tune in it is. Very unlikely it's a super secret tune no one knows about, most likely just something your garage knows nothing about (take you're car elsewhere, sounds like they're feeding you s**t).

I think the code was WTAB, deffinately those letters not sure if that's the right order but the workshop is one of the better ones out there as far as I'm aware, that is I don't hear anybody hanging s**t on them. I wont say who until the jobs done and I'm happy or otherwise.

no they didn't feed me anything. The problemis that the tune doesn't match the code it's different
