Hi all,

I'm in the process of removing everything from my XF, and putting it into the XH Xr6 I have.

In the XF I have been running a complete XHII XR8 dash/loom. My plan is to pull everything out and simply bolt it all back up to the XH. At the same time, I will no longer be using the Auto, I have a T5z going into the ute.

I have seen the engine loom guide to converting to manual, which is fine. Tonight I pull out dash from XF, wondering - do I need the short loom that goes from auto trans computer to white plug near passenger firewall? (After modding gearbox loom in engine bay, is the auto trans computer still required at all?? - or can I remove it completely?)

There is also a smaller 3 pin plug I think, that is near the loom behind dash I described above. Is this the plug for the economy switch? I would just like to know that I can disregard it if thats the case.

I hope everyone can understand what I'm trying to get at. If not I will have to take some pics.

Cheers

One last thing, for those that have done the auto to manual trick - does the ecu still 'learn' how you drive and adjust fuel economy accordingly? I have a SCT so maybe I can just get that tuned to say its a manual?

Thanks again.

Ok. Interesting read there.

Will this work with EEC V? My XH II loom has seperate ECU and TCU.

And can my Switch Chip Eliminator be programmed to make my auto computer 'manual'?

I've also searched for the tech doc on the resistor mod but can't find it now!

Ok,

I've finally got down to finishing off re-wiring my dash while its out.

The only doco i could find on resistor mod for EL loom is http://justfordima.koolhost.com/EFELaut ... ersion.htm

Is this all I need to do? I thought it may have been more in depth?

And while its all out, do I still need auto computer? or can I leave it out when it all goes back together?

Cheers guys
