Throw her in the boot sideways and your good to go, may be a bit loud in the car and probably wheel stand it, but you would have to have deep pockets and a good know how to do it all. But like others have said XR5T or a small v6 (supercharged) would be the way to go.

There was a thread on some forum a while ago, a guy with a small car (charade/mirage or something) with a supercharged toyota v6 in the boot, was like 250rwkw in a 900kg car lol

Yeah ive seen some weird s**t too - 302w (AU220kw) in an escort, commodore V6 in an Escort, 351 in a hiace . . . it goes on and on with some strange (but unique and creative) things people have done with their cars . . . fat wallets and too much spare time . . .

Cheers

Many many moons ago when I were young I remember being in a servo and a mini came in and chirped its tyres on the driveway...only it was the back tyres...intrigued, I wandered over for a look as the guy opened the bonnet, only to see the first couple of spark plugs of a red 6....186, triples, 3 spd manual and a banjo diff. No rear suspension, diff was solid mounted...no tailshaft, just a u joint between g box and diff....and no, he hadn't mentioned to the rego people that the vehicle was modified because he wasn't sure whether it would pass.....okey dokey I said...picked my jaw up off the ground and went about my business. Never forget that one....Oh, and a big home made tin box in the interior so you didn't burn yourself on the engine......

That v6 laser would be a weapon! There are a few 2.0 to 2.5lt mazda v6's and fwd transmissions that could be fit with a bit of work & remain road legal. Maybe the locally delivered tx5 v6 & trans is the go?

There's a mighty boy or two getting around with ls1 v8's in them, nowhere near road legal, but a great burnout car! I prefer my car's road legal so i can drive them.

Cheers

The acceleration from the original 1.6 alone isn't to be sneezed at.
Mines a TON of fun to drive, but crap top end.

But with that V6?
 Wooooo Hooooo!!! :o

Hmmmmmmm

Wonder if there's any V6 Couriers or Explorers at the wreckers??

Eunos v6 is quite small.

There's a 4runner at work, owner wants a v8holden engine in it. It fits. Just need to bell the front of the sump out and make the middle section lower to clear the front diff and rack.

Can those V6's be used in fwd? Otherwise they wouldn't be legal in a laser, need a fwd v6 like the 92 on fwd v6 Telstar Tx5.

Cheers

Troy. I think you just saved us a heap of hastle. Itd need to be about a 4 inch lift tho.
Unless just did a 2inch and then would have room at the back to make it the same depth as the front and extend the front a bit to make up the rest.

Well here is the ad for the Laser in question, it is not, as I thought first off, a courier or explorer engine.

Quote:
Ford Laser with KL-ZE 2.5 V6 engine conversion. Rego expires 20 jan'11. Engine has low KM's. Has had recent service (approx 1.5k-2k ago) with oil + filter change using mobil1 5w-30 fully synthetic, bosch platinum spark plugs, coolant change and air filter clean. New Front tyres (4 wheel alignment carried out aswell) - Toyo Proxes4 have lots of life left (approx 6-7mm) and rear tyres - Good Year Eagle F1's (approx 5mm)

KC-ZE 2.5 V6
Genie Exhaust System
Intake system
Twin plate sprung clutch
Lightened flywheel
LSD Close ratio gearbox
Custom driveshafts and engine mounts
K-tech front sway bar
Eurotech front/rear suspension arms
Pedders Gas Shock-absorbers
New SuperPro suspension bushes allround
TX3 brake conversion
Pulsar GTI-R front seats
Lightened carpet and door trims
Interior is immaculate

passed pit inspection last month(august).

not missed a beat. Seriously quick car. only used 98 octane fuel and mobil1 fully synthetic oil. most receipts for vehicle present. Priced to sell. Regretful sale, but purchasing a motorbike for summer.

Sounds like fun :)
