thinking about selling the 03BA XT and going salary sacrifice on a new xr6, however from looking at fords specs page there is no diffrence between the xt and xr6 other than the xr6 has a shiny body kit and a few more extras that can be chucked on when ordering the car (Premium sound package, leather sports seats, yada yada yada)

Anyone got some advice or inside tips on which really is the better overall car?

All I get from that is the XR6 has more extras. there both still running 195Kw @ 6000 Rpm. The only mechanical advantage I see is in the XR6 Turbo, which due to licensing restrictions I'm not aloud to drive (F**k you NSW)

xt and xr6 have same power since au. the xr6 fg has better seats, bodykit, more options, and you can get the 6 speed zf in it as an option where as i believe the xt is a 5 speed auto? end of last year the xr6 price dropped a fair bit, and so most people were buying that over the xt. so the resale on the xt is now down the gurgler, and expect alot of fg xr6's to start appearing second hand as fleets get traded in, sending the resale price down. why not look at the upgraded g6? a version was released with leather seats, blue tooth, ipod, and different rims for comparable price to the xr6, and id expect the resale would be slightly better due to seeing less of them on the road.
