anyone in adelaide done a ba engine into a el xr6 or just el falcon? just need to know if i can use the el 5 speed gear box if i get it rebuilt and whats the deal with the bonnet? do i have to get it modified because the ba engine sits up higher?
i know about modding the k frame just need to find an engineer to do it and im not sure if i have to change the engine mounts. cheers if someone can help me.....ive got the money saved up to do this very soon  cheers Jamie

Your EL mounts will bolt to the BA block, but the BA mounts will also bolt to your EL k-frame. I'd use what ever mounts the engine lower.
For bonnet clearance you need to make spacers to lower the k-frame which gives you extra space and you'll need to remove the front bonnet support brace. Your EL 5 speed bolts up to the BA block, the bottom bolts won't bolt to the BA sump but you can drill the extra holes in your T5 if you wish. But there not really needed. you will also have to cut out a section in the BA sump for the clutch cable.

Try hiendrick performance at lonsdale he,s done a few now they make the complete wiring looms to suit the conversion he also has the motors in stock just drive in and drive out twice as fast.

cheers guys.....and ive spoken to hienrich but he qoated me like 7k to do it and i know i can get it done cheaper than that lol
